Penguatan Karakter Kepemimpinan Diri Melalui Penyuluhan “The Leaders Inner Journey” Di SMK Queen Zam-Zam

Abstrak

Leadership development has traditionally focused on technical aspects (outer journey), while internal dimensions such as self-awareness and emotional regulation have received less attention. In fact, leadership effectiveness is strongly influenced by personal maturity and integrity. Therefore, the outreach program titled “The Leader’s Inner Journey” was conducted to enhance participants’ understanding of the importance of inner development in shaping effective leadership. The objective of this activity was to improve participants’ conceptual understanding of the inner journey, foster self-awareness, and assist them in identifying personal values and internal barriers in leadership. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach through interactive counseling sessions, with data collected using participatory observation and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The results indicate that the program successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of character-based leadership and promoted self-awareness in recognizing emotions, values, and behavioral patterns. Participants were also able to formulate their core personal values as a foundation for leadership. However, some challenges remained, including low self-confidence and difficulties in emotional regulation. In conclusion, the inner journey approach is effective as an initial step in developing integrity-based leadership, although continuous follow-up programs are required to achieve optimal and sustainable outcomes.
