IMPLEMENTASI KEGIATAN SYARWA’AN DALAM MENINGKATKAN SPIRITUALITAS MASYARAKAT PETANI DAN NELAYAN DI DESA DHARMA KECAMATAN CAMPLONG KABUPATEN SAMPANG

Abstrak

Spirituality is the essence of human life, closely related to meaning, purpose, and a deeper connection with the spiritual dimension. In Islam, spirituality is inseparable from religion, as reflected in the practice of Sufism, which serves as a path toward the purification of the soul and closeness to Allah SWT. This spiritual value is not only present at the individual level but is also embedded within the religious traditions of society. In Indonesia, the spread of Islam since the 13^th century occurred through da’wah, trade, education, and cultural interaction with local communities, giving rise to distinctive traditions that are both religious and cultural. One such tradition is syarwa’an in Lengser Village, a collective dhikr practice conducted regularly every Friday night. This tradition serves a dual function: as a spiritual medium to strengthen faith and seek blessings, and as a social practice that fosters brotherhood and maintains communal harmony. From Koentjaraningrat’s perspective, syarwa’an encompasses elements of religion, social systems, language, knowledge, art, livelihood, and simple technology, thus representing a unique form of spiritual and social culture. Through this tradition, Islam manifests not merely as normative teachings but also as a cultural identity that shapes harmony and togetherness within society.
