Mental wellbeing is a crucial aspect of children’s development during elementary school years. At this stage, children begin to face pressures from academic demands, social challenges, and emotional changes. Without appropriate intervention, these factors may lead to stress, anxiety, or early signs of mental health issues. One increasingly relevant approach is mindfulness programs, which train individuals to develop non-reactive awareness and acceptance of present-moment experiences. This study aims to examine the implementation of mindfulness programs to enhance the mental wellbeing of elementary school students in Indonesia. The method used is a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis of 500 academic articles published in the past decade (2015–2024). Keyword trends, research focus, and scholarly collaboration were analyzed using VOSviewer software. The findings show that mindfulness practice contributes to improved self-regulation, enhanced focus, and reduced symptoms of anxiety and mild depression among school-aged children. Recent research trends also highlight growing interest in school-based interventions that are structured, cost-effective, and integrated into the curriculum. This study recommends the development of teacher training programs and supportive education policies that facilitate the integration of mindfulness as a promotive strategy to improve students' mental wellbeing in Indonesian elementary schools.
